About MyBackTrack

Every musician who learns by ear knows this struggle: trying to make out your instrument's part while the rest of the band takes over the mix, or practicing a specific passage without being able to isolate just that one part.

That's why MyBackTrack exists — a tool to strip away what gets in the way and leave only what matters for practice. Isolate an instrument to train your ear, or remove it entirely to play the song along with the original track, using your own arrangement instead of copying the record note for note.

It's a small project, run by a musician who also codes, with no sponsor — just the tool, free for anyone to use.

Yes. The site only downloads the content you point it to and doesn't ask for logins or personal data. Still, use it responsibly — see the copyright note below.

Audio as MP3, WAV, native YouTube M4A, FLAC, and Opus, plus MP4 video.

We use AI technology to split vocals, drums, bass, and optionally guitar and piano (or just vocals vs. instrumental, in Karaoke mode). It's resource-heavy, so it can take anywhere from a few minutes to over an hour depending on the file.

That's a normal limitation of this kind of AI separation, not a system issue: when two instruments overlap heavily, the model can suppress more than it should. The quality of the original audio matters a lot here too — whenever possible, prefer videos with a well-mixed, good-quality soundtrack.

Not for long. Files are automatically deleted from the server a few hours after download, so disk space doesn't run out.

The server is shared by everyone who uses the site. The limit stops one person (on purpose or by accident) from slowing it down or taking it offline for everyone else.

The PIX key is shown in the footer on every page — just copy it and send any amount through a Brazilian bank app. PIX is Brazil's instant payment system.

Google Play has strict policies against apps that download YouTube content — even though it's technically possible to build one, these apps tend to get removed by the store itself, often without much warning. We prefer to keep the service stable through the website and the Telegram bot, which aren't subject to that kind of review.
